SMSTOEARTH produces media, audio, and visual systems that register environments and territory at multiple scales. The studio uses moving image, field recording, and cartographic representation to both document landscapes in transition and to question their institutions and Western representations. Projects tie fieldwork to modes of listening, imaging, and invention, such that built and designed artifacts circulate across sites of concern.
