SMSTOEARTH designs exhibitions, installations, and public spaces concerned with environmental data, archives, and collective testimony. The studio treats space and architecture as instruments for other modes of measurement and sensing, monitoring atmospheric change, habitat loss, and infrastructures of surveillance.

Here, new technology is positioned not as deterministic endeavor, but as a prompt for radical forms of re-design and re-worlding. Projects have examined defunct technology, reused materials, existing infrastructure, and citizen-collected data, situating questions of climate, labor, and migration in the specific conditions of a site.
